All students at Mount Erin belong to one of 4 Houses-Melaleuca, Sage, Erica, and Casuarina. The names of these houses reflect our local native plant species.
Senior students are encouraged to become House Captains which involves mentoring junior school students, coaching teams, providing leadership, participating at college assemblies, running house meetings, assisting with carnivals and participating in school activities.
Interschool sporting competition is a highlight for many of our sporting teams. They get the opportunity to develop teamwork, initiative, and fair play whilst achieving success and satisfaction from their hard work. Training is run during lunchtimes whilst after school coaching is voluntary.
All carnival and team sports provide students with the opportunity to compete against several schools in our district. Once successful, teams move on to Southern Zone Competition and then State Finals. Students with disability compete at Southern Zone Level.

The school also runs Athletics Clinics in association with Athletics Victoria to assist students with their preparation for athletics carnivals.
Extra Sport Extra sports offered include cycling championships, surfing, Equestrian and triathlons. Several students take up the opportunity to develop new and exciting interests, some even reaching state finals. Lunchtime activities are also offered as an alternative to interschool competition. These include indoor soccer, dodgeball, and the friendly staff versus student netball and basketball matches that encourage all to participate and have fun whilst exercising.
Facilities Mount Erin has a gym with one court (includes netball/basketball/3 volleyball & badminton court lines), four outside basketball courts, two outside netball courts, an oval and an 'Army Reserve' area available for training. Three school buses allow sport staff to drive students/teams to local venues for training and competition.
Sport Uniforms Each team that represents the College during sport days is provided with uniforms displaying the college logo. The students wear these uniforms on match day to give them a sense of team pride and honour in wearing the College colours. The College colours worn by students during competition are royal blue, white and black as shown in many of the photos.
