Student Leadership Committee

The Mount Erin College Student Leadership Committee is a group of students from a range of year levels who are committed to enhancing and improving the College and our wider community.

Student leaders participate in leadership and organisational training, attend conferences, organise events, forums and conventions, represent our student body within the College and in the community. We support selected charities and are actively engaged in building a better community.

Students are nominated and selected by their peers and are involved in a wide variety of activities throughout the year such as:

  • organising a Regional Convention on a current topic or issue involving students from neighbouring schools, local Members of Parliament and relevant commmunity organisations.
  • 'Beach Day' for students including raffles, beach volleyball and a cricket match
  • Young Women Shaping the Future at RMIT run by Jacinta Allan, Youth Services Minister in State Parliament as a forum for young women to actively influence government decision making
  • The Annual Skate Competition
  • Hosting local SRC Cluster meetings
  • Involvement in the Australian Education Foundation, 'Are you Making a Difference?' program to improve our student leadership structure and organisation
  • Attendance at the Youth Ambassadors' Convention
  • 'Arthur's Seat Challenge' to raise funds to support local road safety programs Relay for Life for the Cancer Council
  • Fundraising for State Schools' Relief Committee, Cancer Council, Deaf Olympics, Suicide Prevention, and to improve student facilities and the College environment
