Seize The Day
This
is a regional program coordinated by Mount Erin to develop the leadership
skills in our Year 10 students. Students are taken away for a weekend conference
where they are exposed to a wide range of high profile industry representatives.
The learn about the role of the key competencies in the work place and come
away inspired and motivated to create change in areas they have identified
within their schools.
Catalysts For Change This is a program designed to give students a voice in directing and developing change in schools. Six students from Mount Erin and seven students from Albert Park have participated in extensive training by Fabian Dattner (Dattner Foundation) to provide professional development for teachers in schools.
Schools are then hiring these students to work with their staff. The students are required to investigate the issues within the specific school, interview a range of people and collect the data. They then work with a random sample of students, PD the staff and report back to the leadership team within the school. This is an exciting project that is developing a high level of leadership skills and self esteem amongst our students.
